“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons” (Galatians 4:4-5). God’s mission centers around Jesus. Thank you for supporting us so that we can serve in his name.
Ministry Update:

Steve: With my change in roles and our upcoming move, I’ve been letting go of a lot of local ministry. Pray for me particularly as I transition out of some mentoring roles with Chilean church leaders. I will be able to continue some of this via videoconference, but it won’t be the same as being here face to face.

Additionally, I’ve been working in new ways with two different MTW teams. The first is a group of all the MTW International Directors together with our leaders. We’ve had fruitful time together in prayer and conversation as we seek to follow the Holy Spirit in setting ministry direction and priorities for all of MTW. Pray that we would be sensitive to the Spirit’s leading and that we would be faithful in following him.

The second team is the one I lead in the Americas – with regional leaders for South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and with our ministries to the Indigenous Peoples of North America. Pray for us as we seek to serve our missionaries well and as we look for open doors for the gospel in our respective areas. Pray particularly as we want to develop new leaders and as we hope to see several new church plants.

Amy: In October, we were able to facilitate a conversation with many of our MTW Americas women. Amy asks for prayer as we build on that conversation via a ‘virtual panel’ for MTW women in January. This is a way for our MTW women to connect and encourage each other in the gospel as it practically relates to life and ministry in the mission field.

Amy continues to serve with Parakaleo (ministering to church planters’ wives). As leadership of this ministry transitions to Chilean hands, Amy will be moving into an encourager/mentor role for the new leader (Alejandra). Please pray for them as they adjust to new responsibilities. Additionally, starting in the spring, Amy will be leading a Parakaleo virtual discipleship group in Spanish with leaders from across Latin America. The purpose of this group is to help each member serve better in local discipleship. Pray for the cohesiveness and effectiveness of this new team.

Moving! Again! We have a series of changes coming up. This weekend, Johnny moves to the USA to be there for the start of the semester on January 7th. Lord willing, Amy and I will follow in late February. We’ll be setting up in Columbia, TN. I will still be engaged full-time in my ministry responsibilities, as we also touch base with our supporters and help Johnny make the transition to US schooling and then college. We will also be using the upcoming time to assess where we should be living and serving long-term. Our time in Chile has been amazing; however, we’re looking at the possibility of living somewhere more central in the Americas. Pray for us as we go through all these transitions and decisions! Some specifics for the short-term:

  1. We have some snags in the process for Johnny to get his driver’s license next week – please pray that this can go through without any issues.
  2. We are looking for housing and a vehicle. Pray for the Lord’s provision for these basic needs.
  3. Getting a dog to Chile was rather easy. Getting one back is another story. Pray that we can navigate the obstacles and red tape so that Maya can come with us!
  4. We are both longing to grow in our ability to love and minister effectively. Pray for our hearts as we have so much to learn.

Budget: Over the years, we’ve relied on significant year-end giving to be able to make our budget. Would you please consider supporting us this year (or as a monthly giver)? You can do that clicking here or by following the instructions below.

Thank you for your love, encouragement, gifts, and prayers! You are our partners in the gospel, and we couldn’t be here without you. Merry Christmas!

Love,
Steve, Amy, Joseph, Mary Beth, Johnny, and Maya
