We’re been in Medellín for three months now!

Dear friends,

We’ve been here for three months! Some developments:The Lord provided a great house for us!COVID protocols change regularly! We’ve been in and out of lockdowns, which has made it a challenge to really get settled in and especially to be able to meet people – and to actually know what they look like without masks!Colombia has experienced a lot of social unrest and violence over the last several weeks. It started as protests against a tax initiative but has grown to encompass many issues stemming from hard economic times and government heavy-handedness. As guests here, it’s tricky for us to know how to engage (and not) with all that is going on.In the midst of all this, Amy has been able to get a practicum site for her counseling degree. This is a huge answer to prayer!Amy continues to support the ministry of Parakaleo Latin America. They currently have 60 women from 10 countries training virtually in material that they will then be able to transmit to others in their local contexts.  Johnny is here for his summer break – we’re loving getting time with him.Que Dios los bendiga abundantemente.

With love,

Steve & Amy

Some prayer needs:

Growth: We want to grow more into the people that Jesus wants us to be. Pray that we will submit ourselves to his will for us.

Car: We’re still looking for a vehicle. Pray that we can find the right thing for life and ministry.

Parakaleo: Pray for Amy and the 5 Lain American women who she serves alongside of as they continue with regional training.

Political Stability: Colombia, Perú, Chile, and México are all experiencing significant political and social turmoil. Pray for peace and for protection for the most vulnerable.

Time: We both had lots of responsibilities and opportunities. Pray that we would have wisdom to know what opportunities to invest in – and for us to have the cultural skill to navigate the things we need to say no to.

Some travel starting up: Lord willing, I’ll be going to the PCA General Assembly at the end of the month. Pray for safe travels as well as for stability and safety for Amy & Johnny. If you’re going to be at GA, let me know. I’d love to see you!
